Hermanus is renowned for its vast array of quality restaurants and eateries, which will suit every palate and wallet!
We are happy to assist you in selecting the perfect restaurant.

Hermanus has always attracted a large number of artistically talented people. You will find numerous painters, sculptors, poets, ceramicists, jewellery designers, glass designers, quilters and photographers in and around Hermanus.

The local market, trading on Saturdays (and Sundays during peak season), will give you the opportunity to view a few of the local artists.

There are also excellent African curio-type works brought in from further north, but the quilts, ceramics, precious stone jewellery and most fabric paintings are all produced by local artists.

There are three markets on a Saturday morning:

This is a market not to be missed! The Fernkloof Farmer's Market is famous for its fresh organic vegetables, cheeses, breads and jams etc. Its great fun to have breakfast there and if you're in luck the Marimba band will be playing, but don't be late or you'll miss out on the best produce! The market opens at 07:00 until 11:30. Situated at the Hermanus Cricket Grounds.

This is a more sophisticated market where you are sure to find gourmet cheeses, lovely wines, organic vegetables and great company. It is situated at the Hermanuspietersfontein winery in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Market open from 08:00 – 14:00.
The Market Square offers you a wide variety of local arts, crafts, gemstones, clothing and African art. It is a great place to source presents. Chances are good that you’ll find something unique. Market opens from 09:00 – 14:00. Some stalls remain open all week.
